Mike Gillis

Hello

My name is Mike Gillis. I'm the head writer for The Onion. I've also written pieces for The New Yorker, The Atlantic, McSweeney's Internet Tendency, Tricycle, ClickHole, and the Supreme Court (in the form of this amicus brief that I co-authored). I teach humor writing at DePaul University. My short stories have shown up in the Chicago Quarterly Review, Hobart, Blackbird, The Pinch, and PULP Literature. I'm writing several novels. I've written for video games at Netflix Games, Annapurna Interactive, BLENDO Games, and Day of the Devs-affiliated studios. I also make games with the collective Serious Hats Only, like this or this or this. Check out the links above, and get in touch through the Contact page if you want to hear from me more often.
